Meet David from Fraser Valley Gourmet
David's favourite part about living in Langley is being close enough to Vancouver but still in the heart of farm country. He loves how close everything is to the source - the berry fields, the dairy farms and other local makers and growers. He knows many people by name and not by account number, which he believes changes how you make food. 🥰
David's favourite part of running Fraser Valley Gourmet is watching someone taste the caramel for the first time. The caramel is made in small batches by hand, and he loves seeing the reaction when someone takes their first bite. He also loves the freedom to make his own decisions. If his team wants to improve a recipe or try something new, they can start on Monday. ✨
If he could travel anywhere in Canada, David would choose Newfoundland. He's spent years building a business on the West Coast and he'd love to see the other end of the country properly - the coastline, the small harbour towns, and the kind of hospitality people say you can't quite explain until you've experienced it. 🇨🇦
Fraser Valley Gourmet supports Langley in multiple ways. They donate product regularly to the Langley Food Bank, who serve upwards of 650 people. They've also sponsored the Douglas Park Pickleball Charity Tournament for the past two years, donating Caramel Crunch for the players and volunteers. The tournament raises money for a local school and for kids and families in the community. Lastly, they take on in-kind donation requests from local sports clubs, school fundraisers and community events across the Fraser Valley whenever they can. ❤️
