Our 2025 Holiday Acre75 Gathered Box featured a Maple Chocolate Bar from Hummingbird Chocolate. With the perfect balance of cacao and local maple sugar, this maple chocolate bar delivers a taste of Canada in every bite. Vegan, soy free and gluten free.
Hummingbird Chocolate was founded by Erica and Drew.Â
From Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, they spent their careers working with farmers in developing countries. They learned a lot, helped a bit, and gained a huge respect and affection for people who make food, from grower to artisan.
When it was time to leave Kabul, it seemed natural that they'd pursue chocolate making as it let them connect with farmers, while learning how to craft something they love.
They started out casually — friends wanted their bars and they had fun experimenting. From there, chocolate became a passion. Soon enough, their team grew and together they've become crazily obsessed with making the best possible chocolate. 🇨🇦🥰
