I can't believe the Acre75 Gathered Holiday box has already shipped! I thought about and planned for this particular box for a very long time. When I first launched Acre75 Gathered in April, I was already anticipating the Holiday box; what kind of festive products would I include? What will the tape look like? How can I make it as Christmas-y as possible without being too Christmas-y? I'm so happy with how it all turned out and with the response from all my loyal subscribers. This was my largest shipment yet: 78 active subscribers! You have no idea how happy this makes me as I had hoped for 60 active subscribers for the Holiday box (and I truly wasn't sure how/if I would reach that number). What a year it has been for Acre75!
The tape for the Holiday box features small towns in Canada that are known for their Christmas celebrations. I found out about these towns by asking on social media for people to tell me about the most Christmas-y towns in Canada. I couldn't pick just one so I randomly chose 7: Formosa, ON, Kincardine, ON, Smithers, B.C., Collingwood, ON, Dresden, ON, Meaford, ON and Salmon Arm, B.C. Our tape is biodegradable and recyclable!
The tissue paper in the Holiday box is a photocopy of my hometown newspaper, The Mildmay-Carrick Town Crier, from Christmas 1975! It is printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, acid-free paper and printed using soy-based ink.
If you are new here, Acre75.ca is our online store that sells gifts and goods handcrafted in small Canadian towns. Each purchase on Acre75.ca supports a small town business and puts money back into small communities in Canada. In addition to the online store, we also have a seasonal subscription box called Acre75 Gathered. Each box contains a gathering of items from our online store, delivered every December, March, June and September.
Here's what we gathered in our Holiday 2019 box:
