Meet Annie from RoseWolf Creations
Annie is a Mi’kmaw pyrography artist inspired by nature, the celestial, and her roots. Wood-burning is both her medium and her medicine, and every piece is designed with intention. She creates hand-burned hats, bags, and artwork, with the elements in each piece drawn from her life, what she loves, and what inspires her.
Annie's favourite part about living in a small town is how peaceful it is, along with the sense of community. There’s something really special about being surrounded by nature, right by the ocean, and living in an area with people who genuinely support one another. She think small towns remind you to slow down, appreciate the simple things, and just really be more present.
Her favourite part of running a small business is being able to create for a living and connect with people through her art. Every piece she makes by hand has its own story, and she loves seeing people find something that feels personal to them. She also loves the freedom of building something that truly works for her - for the way her mind works, hours that work best for her, and the way she creates. She has loved being able to build her own path around creativity, choosing what she works on each day, and creating a business rooted in what she genuinely loves.
If Annie could travel anywhere in Canada, she would love to spend more time exploring the West Coast and the mountains in BC. The landscapes, wildlife, and creative inspiration there are incredible, and she always feel drawn to places with strong connections to nature.
Annie supports her community by shopping local whenever possible, collaborating with other small businesses, taking part in local markets and festivals, and helping bring tourism and visibility to PEI through her work. She is proud to create and grow RoseWolf in Mi’kma’ki.
