Our 2026 Spring Acre75 Gathered Box featured a Yukon Gin & Tonic Soap from The Yukon Soaps Company. This soap bar features juniper berries and fireweed hand-picked by community members and blended with fresh notes of lemon and juniper essential oils. Gently cleansing and refreshing, it’s a plant-forward soap with no artificial colours or fragrances.
Joella’s favourite part about living in a small town is the connections she has built with her community and how they come together to take care of each other. She believes this is a strength of small town living. 🏡
One of her favourite parts of running a small business is the opportunities she has to uplift and amplify Indigenous and northern artists. ✨
If Joella could travel anywhere in Canada, she would choose Cape Breton, as she has family roots there and would love more opportunities to go back. The first time she went, she felt like she had been there before and strongly believes in blood memory. 🇨🇦
Joella supports the small town she lives in by working with community members to respectfully harvest wild plants using cultural protocols, sharing plant knowledge, language, and stories through her products and workshops. By embedding place-based Indigenous knowledge into everyday products, she supports cultural revitalization and values of caring, respect, sharing, and teaching. 🌱
